Healthy habits.

Sport plays a big role in our life. Many people do sport in our country. They want to stay healthy. Sport is a good mean of struggling with stress.

In my opinion sport is important for healthy free time. Sport also makes people strong and prepares a lot of joy.

I Know many famous sportsmen of our country: N.Voluev, E. Plushenko, I.Rodnina, A.Kabaeva, V.Klichko and many others.

Some people participate in sports, others prefer watching them on TV. It is known that walking for an hour is healthier than irregular participation in any active physical activities. To keep fit some people join special classes or take part in aerobics or yoga, do some kind of training in a gym. Others play football, badminton, volleyball, tennis.

Sport plays an important role in our life. Everyone who wants to be healthy and keep fit should go in for sports. There is a good English proverb that saying: “If we are healthy, we are wealthy”. That is why I believe Physical Education is a useful school subject. At the lessons children play different games such as volleyball and basketball. As for me, I’m fond of different kinds of sports and games but my favourite one  is volleyball. I like volleyball very much! It is my favorite sport game. I am fond of it because you can play in a team with your friends for example. In summer I prefer to play beach volleyball and in other time I usually play in a gym. My favorite volleyball player is Aleksei Kuleshov. He won the Olympic games in 2004. I go in for sports not professionally, but I hope that some day our team will participate in some volleyball championship.

Water sport.

My hobby is swimming. I love swimming, so I go to the swimming pool three times a week which brings me great joy. Swimming makes a person flexible and athletic. Swimming is a very popular competitive sport. It is included in the Olympic Games and there are also many other swimming events. They include diving, marathon swimming, swimming, synchronized swimming and even water polo.

Swimming is very varied. Both men and women can participate in swimming competitions separately. They swim different strokes and for different distances. There are butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke, medley and freestyle swimming events.
Synchronized swimming, because of its similarity to dance, is sometimes called water ballet. It is performed by a group of female swimmers who move synchronically with a musical accompaniment. Russian team usually has a great success in synchronized swimming competitions. My favorite synchronized swimmer is Anastasia Davydova. She won the Olympic games in 2004.

“If we are healthy, we are wealthy”1!!!

Every training makes me feel stronger, both physically and mentally. Other than that, it strengthens my immune system and boosts my spirits. Secondly, attending the swimming-pool brings me great joy. I have two classmates who go there with me, but we try not to get distracted. We can always chat or fool around after the training is over. One of my friends, who is rather fat, says that swimming is not as important as other sports. Hearing that, my coach said that one session of swimming is much healthier than any dieting. It burns as many calories as are found in an average piece of cake. Thus, swimmers don’t tend to gain extra weight. In conclusion, I’d like to say that there is nothing better than swimming when we want all our muscles to relax.

The most difficult event is considered to be a 10-kilometer marathon. It requires a lot of power, energy and right force distribution. Diving is the most spectacular competition. Divers plug into water performing gymnastic and acrobatic stunts.

Water polo was originally called “footbal-in-water” and it was invented in XIX century. It is a game played in a swimming pool by teams of seven with a buoyant ball. The Olympic Games include both men and women tournaments.

I like volleyball very much! It is my favourite sport game. I am fond of it because you can play in a team with your friends for example. So, this game is played on a volleyball court, divided into two 9 m × 9 m halves by a net. There is the “attack line” 3 meters from and parallel to the net in each team court. This "3 meter" line divides the court into "back row" and "front row" areas (also back court and front court). There is also a serve zone behind the in-line.
